Kaa 24/2/19 Sun Founders Day Bike Hike Darebin-Ivanhoe On Founders Day we celebrate the Birthday of the Founder of Scouting, Baden Powell. We had a District bike hike to get out and get some exercise and have fun! - 26/2/19 Tue Boomerang Test 4 - Outdoor Scouting - Fires and Cooking Who likes to cook on open fires? Lots of Cubs - Some damper was cooked, some a bit raw, others burnt! Vegies were good! Akela 12/3/19 Tue Suburban Adventure Racing Ruffey Park, Doncaster Cubs got to work in teams to test out their navigation skills against the clock - great fun! Raksha 15-17/3/19 Fri -Sun Gold Camp X! Rowallan Scout Camp, Riddells Creek Older Cubs by invitation - Our 10th Gold Camp! Fun, with cooking, learning how to earn the Grey Wolf, Hiking, trying some Scout stuff and earning the Bushcraft Level 2 Badge - Rosanna joined up with Cubs and Leaders from other Cub Packs from around Victoria for a huge weekend. Akela 19/3/19 Tue Boomerang Test 10 - Scientific Discovery We did some experiments to see how things work! Some Cubs can talk under water! Akela 26/3/19 Tue Swimming Night Watermarc, Greensborough Ready for a swim / slide?! Our swimming badge night will be in 3rd term... this night was just for tons of FUN! Cubs dressed up and came along to join the fun... we tried to remember that Wizardry isn't just about Harry Potter! Akela 6/4 - 22/4/19   School Holidays Term 1 is done! ONLY 1 CUB bought me an Easter Egg at the start of Term 2 on Tuesday, 23rd of April!!!   Rosanna Cub Scouts - Term 2, 2019 - Program 23/4/19 Tue Games Night We were into Term 2 - so we jumped right in with 4 investitures and a games night! Kaa 25/4/19 Thu Anzac Day On the 104th Anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, we went to Greensborough for the Anzac Day March and Ceremony - 30/4/19 Tue Boomerang Test 1 - Health & First Aid We need to be able to look after both ourselves and others! So, had a bit of a look at our health and doing first aid for others. Raksha 14/5/19 Tue Boomerang Test 5 - Our Cub Scout Traditions Scouting has a lot of tradition over the past 112 years, plus the Jungle Book is at the heart of Cubs - so we learned a bit! Cubs learned some First Aid that might help them save someone's life one day, had some fun along the way AND earned the First Aid Level 2 Badge. Akela 28/5/19 Tue Air Ambulance / Police Air Wing Essendon Airport We organised a visit to Essendon Airport to see the Air Ambulance - we had plenty of 'patients' in the helicopter! Akela 4/6/19 Tue Heritage Night As part of earning the "Their Service, Our Heritage" Badge we had a look at where our soldiers fought on the Western Front in France and Belgium in World War 1 Akela 11/6/19 Tue Indigenous Night People were living in Australia waaay before Captain Cook turned up in 1770! We had some fun learning a bit about Indigenous culture! Raksha 14/6/19 Fri Pack Council We got our Sixers (and Seconds) together to talk about how we're running our Pack AND to scoff some hot chips! Akela 18/6/19 Tue Rosanna Library (walking from/to the Hall) We visited Rosanna Library, where Cubs were able to earn some of their Literature and Lester Literate Badges! Kaa 22-23/6/19 Sat-Sun Gang Show, BBQ and Cub Sleepover Rosanna Scout Group (and family members) went to Gang Show 2019, then had a family BBQ with 1st Bendigo Cubs too, followed by a Cubs-only Sleepover at the Hall. All had a GREAT time! - 25/6/19 Tue Jungle It's 125 years since Rudyard Kipling wrote The Jungle Book, and the stories still capture kids' imaginations. Akela 19/11/19 Tue Boomerang Test 4 (Part) - Outdoor Scouting Maps and Compass We had some fun learning how to use compasses, maps and setting and following trails Raksha 22-24/11/19 Fri-Sun Pack Holiday & Group Camp Mt Martha Theme - Pirates We were off to our Pack Holiday and Group Camp (with our Scouts/Venturers/Rovers) at Mt Martha. We'll slept and ate in train carriages, and did tons of activities, like a huge flying fox, archery, yabbying (with lots of yabbies) and of course beating the Scouts in the flour fight! - 26/11/19 Tue Penny Hike Let's go for a walk - where to?
